Newin Chidchob has some advice for politicians that we wish many of them would heed - pack it in and find something else to do.
The erstwhile kingmaker of Thai politics claims he’s left all ambitions for public office behind and he’s a much happier man as a result.
Newin’s succeeding in other fields now. Not only does his Buriram Football Club do well in league play, the massive Songkran celebration he held at the team’s iMobile Stadium put their Isaan home on the map of fun places to welcome the New Year.
Thousands of people turned up for the party, albeit most of them men wanting to see the squad of Japanese adult-video stars that Newin imported to dance for the occasion.
And meanwhile, he tells Nation Weekend magazine, “Now I can ride a motorcycle and I can walk around at Siam Paragon in shorts and a Buriram jersey. As a politician I had to be like an idol, wearing suits all the time. I couldn’t just do what I wanted.”
Seriously, though, he’ll jump back into politics as soon as Thaksin says it’s okay, right?
Maybe not: “I was in politics for 20 years and not many people admired me, but after being in football for two years, everyone loves me,” he says. “My only wish is to get Thai football into the top five in Asia.”
He’s going to need a bigger shipment of sexy babes.
Seeing double
And we have just the swimsuit for Newin’s sexy babes to wear, assuming they wear anything at all.
As seen in the accompanying photos, this Triumph one-piece is a hit. Pawasira “Nu Wan” Pencharti modelled it for Praew magazine and Niranart “Victoria” Colt wore it for Lips.
Both women sport other swimsuits inside, but this is the one both magazines wanted on the cover.
The coincidence must be doubly amusing for the photographers – Sumate Wiwatwicha, who went to Phuket for Praew, and Sakchai Guy, whose Lips shoot was in Phang-nga.
