Sped up with Wang
Alexander Wang is inspired by American stock-car and dirtbike racing for his spring-summer 2012 collection, which pulses with the spirit of speed and the patterns of motorsports jumpsuits.
The racing-themed outfits of sporty T-shirts, body-tight trousers, tank tops and mini-dresses incorporate mesh, lasering, burn-outs and perforation. An X-ray effect is applied to stiffen fabric and leathers.
Prints play an important role this season, with abstract geometric stripes from the racing costumes and feminine botanical prints.
Check out the collection at Club 21 at the Erawan Bangkok.

Lego Malaysia!
Asia’s first Legoland theme park, built with the popular toy bricks, will open in Malaysia’s southern Johor state in September. That’s several months ahead of schedule, so somebody’s got fast hands.
Legoland Malaysia general manager Siegfried Boerst says more than 35,000 annual passes have already been sold, folks keen to ride the 40 roller coasters, race cars and other attractions.
He says Singaporeans snapped up more than a third of the tickets. They’ll be part of the million people expected to visit the sprawling park in its first year. By 2014 it will have a Legoland Hotel, another Asia first and the world’s fourth.
