Money talks if you want 'warm welcome'

Somsak Pola's opinion of Thaksin being welcomed like the Dalai Lama might give the impression that Thaksin has been warmly welcomed by many countries around the world.
It is a true fact, and only a fact, that Thaksin can fly here and there except to his home country. But he can by no means be compared with the Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela or Aung San Suu Kyi. The said three personalities have been recognised as making great contributions to their respective motherlands.
Thaksin, on the contrary, is a man who still can’t understand what integrity, ethics and moral standards really mean. Thailand would not be in these circumstances if he did not have the money to induce those who desperately seek power in politics.
