Comparison to Dalai Lama is plain stupid

Somsak Pola has written to The Nation accusing the Democrat government of having lied about Thaksin Shinawatra being on an Interpol list.

It seems fairly obvious that his sister’s government would have requested Interpol remove him from the list at the same time his cousin in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs returned his passport. More proof is required to show that the previous government lied, and Somsak hasn’t provided any.
Somsak also claims that Thaksin is viewed as a political victim by all countries in the world because some have granted him a visa. Many countries also granted visas to the likes of Muamar Gadhafi, Charles Taylor, Ferdinand Marcos and Augusto Pinochet before their downfalls, and some still open their borders to Robert Mugabe. That doesn’t mean those countries view(ed) those corrupt and murderous dictators as victims in any way shape or form.
Most egregiously, Somsak compares Thaksin, a man responsible for the murders of at least 1,400 innocent Thais in his sham “War on Drugs”, to the Dalai Lama, who is an apostle of non-violence. Now that’s some sack of baloney.
