Forget the country, what can the red shirts do for me?

In John F Kennedy's inaugural speech, he said, "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country".

If people took up such a challenge it would be the mark of a true democracy. As a counterpoint George Bush asked the question, “Are you with me or against me?” – a challenge to blindly follow.
The red shirts were raised in “the name of democracy” with reward and the promise for more to come. This democratic movement has brought to power a government with a number of challenges facing it and has performed at a consistent level in each task. The drums are now beating in the red-shirt villages regarding the government’s shortcomings. Soon they will work out that Thailand’s drive to democracy is based upon “Ask what your country can do for me and ask what you can do for me as well”.
