Logic on fuel prices: ours vs theirs

In the US, President Obama received all the blame when gasoline prices went up back in March. Now that gas prices have come down by 5 per cent or so, the media have chosen to remain silent and give the president no credit for the price drop.

I suspect that the exact opposite is going to happen in Thailand.
First the Thai media said virtually nothing about the big surge in oil price. If the price of oil in Thailand does come down in line with global prices, I’m sure the media will find it hard to stop praising their beloved PM for months to come. And if it goes back up, they’ll probably switch to silent mode again.
So which country is being more logical?
