United States violates extradition treaty
The US government, by granting an entry visa to Thaksin Shinawatra, seems to have breached the Thai-US extradition treaty (1990).
In the past Thailand has extradited suspected terrorist Hombali and Russian arms dealer Victor Bout to stand trial in the US – as required and requested.
However, in this case, Thaksin, besides being a suspect in various criminal cases in Thailand, is also a runaway convict from a two-year jail term, as sentenced by a Thai court.
Hence, the US government is obligated to send any convicted Thai person back home – and with no request from us necessary.
