“Her nickname is Mona – short for Mona Lisa,” said the proud dad, or should we say Daddy Demon, in reference to his globetrotting solo performance “I Am a Demon”.
No, this French name is not because he was recently awarded a Chevalier dans L’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Government. “I was in Paris when I was thinking of her name,” he explained. How romantic of him!
The couple hasn’t settled on her proper first name though. “I suggested Kotchasingha, but my in-laws didn’t approve.” His fans wouldn’t approve either – it sounds like a boy’s name.
Obviously Daddy Demon needs another trip to Paris to come up with a beautiful name.
Nature boy
Actor Trisadee “Por” Sahawong deserves a green award. He has been doing a good job as the ambassador for the World Society for the Protection of Animals in Thailand for four consecutive years. The work is valuable experience, says the Buri Ram native, who once even helped a cow give birth.
“I was scared at first helping the vet, but the minute I touched the calf it was something special that I won’t forget.”
Por also helps conserve forests. Many people know that owns a large property in Buri Ram, but few realise he actually farms it. “I wanted to try growing quality rice for my own consumption. It was exhausting work in the field, but it felt good to be back to nature.
“The harvest is due at the beginning of next year and I’m thinking of giving it all to people I know. I can even sell some.”
His love of nature prompted him to buy another piece of 20 rai. “It’s very fertile forest and I want to keep it that way. I’m afraid that, if I don’t buy it, someone will go and encroach on the forest and cut all the trees down.”
