Chanel has a brand-new bag

The concept for Chanel’s autumn-winter collection is inspired by Czech cubism and is portrayed in a variety of eye-catching metallic shades with the sparkle of precious jewels. The iconic tweed is the primary material for the bags in this unique collection.
Backpacks are back in trend. In this collection, they’re in two sizes: small tweed bags in gold and navy blue, and velvet bags in plum, fuchsia and dark green shades.
The large bags come only in lambskin with a flashy colour palette of beige, silver and dark green.
Boy Chanel bags are the strong highlight of this collection. There are quilt-patterned velvet bags made from lambskin in purple, fuchsia, dark green, yellow, navy blue and plum with two sizes, large and mini.
The fine calfskin bags in classic black feature cubic embossing designed by Karl Lagerfeld and inspired by Czech cubism.
There are also sequinned calfskin bags for those seeking daytime reliability and night-time dazzle in the same bag. They are also available in sequinned black lambskin.
See them for yourself at Chanel’s boutiques in Siam Paragon and the Emporium.

The artistry of self-discovery
Young artist Bussaraporn Thongchai’s solo show “The Man Number 10” opens at Ardel’s Third Place Gallery on Tuesday at 6.30pm. The exhibition reflects the complicated relationship between “herself, her father and the men”. Bussaraporn’s drawings and writings serve as a vehicle for her self-discovery journey.
She wants to find out what’s behind her emotional emptiness. The journey brings back her experiences and memories of love and desire. Eventually, she realises that her “father” is the beginning and answer to her quest. Because of him, she met all the men in her life. However, her father is the one she’ll never have the chance to meet again.
The drawings depict naked men and women, while some are surrealist drawings depicting secret organs of a man with human legs. She also draws her own weird creature on magazine paper.
The show runs until October 28. See www.ArdelGallery.com.

Easy on Burberry eyes
Burberry has new shades for its autumn-winter collection, with faceted hexagonal frames inspired by the strong silhouettes in the brand’s ready-to-wear and accessories collections.
Lightweight dual-colour frames with contrasting trim reference Burberry’s geometric shapes and graphic prints.
The olive-shaded plastic frame looks great with any skin tone. Other colours are khaki-mustard, teal-mustard and teal-plum. The gradient lenses are scratch- and shock-resistant lenses.
Try them on at Burberry’s boutiques in Siam Paragon, Central Chidlom and Gaysorn.
