Classic India dance comes to town

 
The Siam Society and the Indian Cultural Centre are organising the dance show “Jaipur Gharana in Kathak” on September 27 at 7.30pm.
Anjana Jha will present medieval and 19th century compositions from the living repertoire of the “Jaipur style” of the Indian classical dance form.

Filipino film
The Bangkok Art and Culture Centre and Films Forum continue their “Cinema Diverse” series with the Filipino family drama “Nino” on October 20 at 5pm in the fifth-floor auditorium.
The debut feature by director Loy Arcenas, “Nino” has won many awards and been shown at festivals worldwide.
Arcenas will attend the screening, as will the lead actress Fides Asensio, who is one of the best-known opera singers and stage artists of the country. For details, e-mail [email protected].

Young writers
The Neilson Hays Library is organising a workshop on “Writing for Children & Young Adults” with Elley Polonkey today from 10am to 5pm. The cost is Bt2,000.
Students will learn the ABCs of writing for children as well as examine the elements of style in a young adult novel. The course will also look at the middle grade novel and discover the delicate balance between humour and lessons that exist in some of the industry’s most popular and awarded titles.
