Banish stress at Estrella

City people now have another decent spot to relax and get pampered right in the heart of Bangkok without burning a hole in their wallet. The recently opened Estrella Spa at Anantara Baan Rajprasong Serviced Suites offers a wide range of treatments and massages for all, with differently themed treatment rooms to create interesting vibes. 

 

The spacious and elegant spa is propped on the second floor of the building that, though not high enough to give panoramic view of the city, offers a decent view of nearby gardens and big trees – one of the rare treats Bangkok could offer. 

 

Besides the usual spa menu, you also have a luxury of choosing the theme of your treatment suite. Here they have seven rooms in seven different decors, themed from characteristic destinations around the world from Xi’an in China, Tokyo in Japan to Monte Carlo in Monaco and Africa’s Savannah. There’s also a Bronx Room for more sophisticated, masculine feel and a all-white Helena Room that makes you feel all prissy and feminine. 

 

You might scoff at the idea of themed spa rooms, as most of the time you’ll be lying face down or on your back with eye pillow anyway. So what is the point in that? But the first visual impression lasts longer than you think, and it lingers on in your mind even with your eyes closed. 

 

This time, we chose Xian Room that is dressed in crimson red |and adorned with Chinese royal-style knick-knacks that really make it feel like a little secret room in a Chinese palace. With that in mind, it will continue to feel like you’re being pampered and indulged in ancient China. The music is somehow not themed, though, and that does spoil the mood a little. 

 

When in doubt in any spa, go with the signature treatment. The Estrella Signature Massage proves to be worthwhile and truly pampering. With a blissful blend of different massage styles to give long stroke and firm kneading to the muscle, the treatment leaves you stress-free and totally relaxed afterwards. Choose 60 minutes (Bt1,500), 90 minutes (Bt1,950) or 120 minutes at Bt2,500. 

 

There are two other signature treatments at the same price range: Sport Balancing Massage and Blissful Unity Massage that helps relieve muscle tension after working out and soothe and calm a weary body, respectively. 

 

“I started going to spas when I was 17,” Yada Roongwatanapak, young owner of the spa told us. “There were only two things I wanted to do in life: flight attendant or spa owner. And since my parents didn’t want me to travel all the time, they much preferred me to run a spa instead. 

 

“And from my extensive experiences in many different spas, I created the menu myself. We also care about the clients’ skin and only use products from Pevonia, which is pure organic and does not cause allergy or irritation.” 

 

Estrella Spa creates several thoughtful combo packages to satisfy all your need. Recommended is the Aroma Package (90 minutes at Bt2,800) with a warm milky Jacuzzi bath and a 60-minute signature massage. To treat your skin and pamper your body, order a 45-minute Delight Skin Toning Scrub that comes with a complimentary 60-minute Aroma Mysterious Massage at Bt3,500. 

 

If you have time to spare or |desperately need to unwind, get |a 3-hour Beauty Package at Bt4,900 that combines facial and eye treatments with body scrub and ends with the relaxing signature massage. You’ll come out ready for whatever is in store for the day!

 

Simpler choices can also be had. The 60-minute Thai massage, back and neck massage or foot reflexology treatments are priced at Bt750 each.
