Karl Lagerfeld has revisited classic Chanel tweed in his new eyewear collection. On every model, tweed bands have been moulded directly onto the rubber temples, as opposed to simply being applied.
This “second skin” comes in five different colours, picking up the palette of shades chosen by Lagerfeld for the Chanel autumn-winter collection: authentic green, British brown, iconic black and white and deep blue.
The sober and elegant frames are available in a feminine cat-eye shape or butterfly, with a more casual mask for the sunglasses and round, square or oval for optical glasses. The collections are available at Chanel’s boutiques at the Emporium, Gaysorn and Siam Paragon.
The life of Michael
Artist Michael Shaowanasai’s new solo show “Radu die 1. Dawn of the Evening: Entering Act V” is at H Gallery’s alternative H Project Space until November 4.
The result of Michael’s self-reflective two-year hiatus at hideaways around Europe, where he pondered mid-career realities, the show’s title is autobiographical. It spans his life from Bangkok childhood to growing up in America, attending art school and becoming a professional.
Michael has been a leading multi-disciplinary artist for nearly two decades, and this exhibition notes that 16 years is considered the marker for making it or breaking it.
On display are paintings, photographs and an interactive installation that reinvigorate his long-standing themes of sexuality, sensuality, identity, representation and provocation.

Anna Sui totes a Coach
Anna Sui has teamed up with Coach to create limited-edition Duffle Sacs for her autumn 2012 runway show in February. “Coach’s iconic Duffle handbag represents such a significant part of their history,” Sui says. “It’s truly an honour to put my own spin on this seminal design. The Anna Sui version adds a Boho feeling with whip-stitching, big tassels and appliqued art nouveau dragonflies.”
The two Anna Sui for Coach bags are the Fleur-de-Lis Duffle, which is unlined like the original version introduced in 1972, and the Dragonfly Duffle, which features Sui’s vintage printed twill lining. Crafted of vegetable-tanned, hand-burnished leather, each bag is numbered and features solid brass hardware, signature hang-tags and a removable interior logo wristlet.
The bags will be available next month at Coach boutiques at Siam Paragon, Emporium, Central Chidlom, CentralWorld and Central Lat Phrao.
