The Art of Living Thailand’s Mantra Fusion Charity Concert at the New International School of Thailand featured one of India’s leading musicians, Amol Shende, who’s known for his unique style of music, fusing ancient Sanskrit chants and secular wisdom with the sound of the electric guitar. He creates a genre that transcends boundaries and uplifts the spirit.
Chirag Vilas Patil and Alex accompanied Shende on tabla and keyboards in this blissful concert, which featured soul-stirring songs and chants interspersed with talks on spiritual awareness by the internationally acclaimed Art of Living singer and faculty member Shende.
The concert aimed to generate awareness and support for service projects among Indians in Bangkok and further generate goodwill and unity beyond culture, religion and nationality.
Deputy Chief of Mission Prashant Agarwal attended with other dignitaries from the Indian embassy and other sectors.
Aside from the Blissful Rocking concert, event coordinator Ashu Khurana enthralled audience with her beautiful poetry and shayari. Her punches of nice couplets added icing to the cake.
Proceeds from ticket sales went to the Camilian Home in Lat Krabang, which helps children living with disabilities.
Camilian Home volunteer Alain Brioude was presented with a cheque by Agarwal and Shende and members of the Art of Living Bangkok. The money will be used to install an aquatic-therapy pool at the home.
Founded in 1981 by His Holiness Sri Ravi Shankar, the Art of Living Foundation is a non-profit, educational and humanitarian NGO involved in stress-management and service initiatives through unique courses and events. The concert was the first of its kind for the Thailand chapter, and was a resounding success.
