Obama did not create the present deficit, however he has contributed to it with gusto. The problems of America have been festering for fifty years or so and they all centre around the unchecked growth of the military and government and unbridled spending by both the government and private sectors. The key word here is “entitlement”. All sectors mentioned
feel that they are entitled to what they get and therein lies the problem.
On one hand we have Obama, who inherited a country heading for bankruptcy and who tried to solve the problem by bailing out companies who should have gone into reorganisation, which would have had a sobering effect. He then became concerned with addressing the need for medical insurance rather than just socialising the entire medical industry, which is really the only solution to the problem. He has addressed every problem except for the one he inherited. The one that is going to bring on disaster.
On the other hand you have Romney, who has never been in the armed forces, having received two educational deferments and one religious deferment during the Vietnam era, telling us that the military needs more money. He also continues to talk about all of the jobs he will create. These two subjects are related because he believes that the money he is going to give the military will create the jobs. He’s supposed to be a business
wizard, but he doesn’t seem to understand that only jobs created in the private sector have any value in helping to solve the deficit problem.
Over the past 50 years the only president that made an effort to abate the growing problem of America was Ronald Reagan. He made attempts to stem the rising cost of government and had nightmares trying to slow it down. People living in a fool’s paradise don’t want their reverie interrupted.
So what American voters have in this election is a choice between the rack or the lash. Pretty much the same as they have had for fifty years now. The reason being that people do not want to hear the truth. They want to hear that the party can go on into infinity. And this is why we get the clowns we get running for office. And this is why America will remain on track for its rendezvous with default and the subsequent social upheaval. Shades of Greece.
Please guys, spare us the praise for two gentlemen who deserve none or the defence of two gentlemen who are indefensible. Just as in Thailand, all they do is feed us the BS that they think they need to in order to get into power. These pages pretty well bear me out because unfortunately, far too many people buy into it.
