Straightforward as ever, Tanapa lets herself in for criticism that she talks too much, but she speaks from her heart and tact isn’t her strong suit.
When Woody noted the rumour that Tak is pregnant, she scoffed and asked why her daughter would bother organising an engagement ceremony then rather than getting straight to the wedding. “I don’t even know when they’re going to marry!”
She figures the “kids” will get along fine because they both follow dharma. “And even if that didn’t work, everything will be okay because Tak’s still young.”
Tanapa said her soon-to-be son-in-law is “a real gentleman who respects me and never looks down on me”. Tak’s ex-boyfriends, on the other hand, were “rubbish and never treated me right”.
In fact, Mum thinks Boonchai is flawless – apart from his age (he’s twice as old as Tak). “And I don’t really care how wealthy he is because I’m also rich in my own way. Even after Tak gets married I’ll still be selling my chilli paste!”
Scared sleepless
GTH director Banjong “Tong” Pisanthanakun is evidently pretty excited about his new movie, “Phi Mak Phrakanong”. The day shooting began this month, he tweeted that he was out of bed at 9am – way too early. Knowing it would be a long day on the set, he’d planned to rise at 11, but his body alarm clock wouldn’t shut up.
Tong is obviously fired up about the film’s great cast, with Mario Maurer playing Phi Mak, husband of Thailand’s favourite ghost, Mae Nak, and TV actress Davika “Mai” Horne as the famous spook herself. “She has a beautiful face and her eyes are charming,” Tong enthuses. “She’s also a very good actress and will be great in the scary scenes!”
