Strip all corrupt police officers of their rank

If a court of law finds that Abhisit Vejjajiva used a fraudulent document in applying for and obtaining a job as a lecturer at Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy - a position that exempted him from military conscription - then I have no problems with st

But “justice is indiscriminately due to all, without regard to numbers, wealth or rank,” as John Jay said. A police lieutenant-colonel who’s convicted of massive corruption but then goes into self-exile to flee his jail term gravely dishonours the uniform he wears and is obviously unfit to be a senior enforcer of the law. He certainly cannot plead ignorance of the law, since he’s earned a PhD in criminology.
Just as Defence Minister Sukumpol Suwanatat dropped all else to attend to the vital matter of ensuring that justice was done and seen to be done in the case of Sub-Lieutenant Abhisit, Interior Minister Jarupong Ruangsuwan must see that justice is seen to be done in rapidly stripping Police Lieutenant-Colonel Thaksin of the rank and uniform he dishonours.
