Who would want to be a farmer?

I am Thai and proud that we have the best quality rice. We all eat rice with every meal, and the only group that we have to thank for that is the farmers.
But right now, who cares about farmers? I don’t understand why most Thai people look down on these valuable people. They often think that this job is inferior to others. I also don’t understand why most farmers in Thailand don’t have a comfortable life. Why are most of them in debt even though they grow the rice all Thai people eat every day. Rice is a main export product of Thailand, but why do they still live in poor conditions. Is it because of the middlemen? Is the rice price guarantee scheme really helping them? This is a big problem that the Thai government should be concerned about before it is too late, because when the next generation sees this problem, I think no one will want to be a farmer anymore. Then we might have to import rice from other counties.
