Azarenka and Williams set to hit Thai catwalk

World No 1 Victoria Azarenka and No 3 Serena Williams will be showing off top Thai fashions along with top tennis at the Hua Hin World Tennis Invitation this month.
On December 28, the two trend-conscious stars will participate in a fashion show celebrating Thai silk, at the InterContinental Hua Hin Resort.
The event will showcase silk-made fashions from around the Kingdom, with 30 Thai designs specially created under a “Wonder of Nature” theme. Azarenka and Williams will both take to the catwalk wearing tailor-made outfits. The star players’ participation guarantees worldwide exposure for Thailand, its silk industry and fashion designers.
The two players will arrive in Thailand on December 26. This will be Azarenka’s second time in Hua Hin after playing there 12 months ago.
“I had a great time in Hua Hin last time and it was the perfect start to the year for me. I hope it will be just as great this time, and can’t wait to see you all in Hua Hin,” said Azarenka, winner of this year’s Australian Open.
William’s, meanwhile, will be making her debut on Thai soil.
“This will be my first time playing in Thailand and I am really looking forward to it. I’ve heard fantastic things about Hua Hin and about Thailand, and I can’t wait to see all my Thai fans at the Hua Hin World Tennis Invitation on December 29,” said the 15-time Grand Slam winner.
Prior to the fashion show, Azarenka and Williams will do some sightseeing around Hua Hin. Their match will be broadcast live on Channel 3 at 5pm on Saturday December 29.
