He goes carousing on Soi Cowboy with his Neanderthal beer-swilling friends on Friday nights (and also on Saturdays, Sundays and sometimes Wednesdays). If the world is going to end before the dancing starts this Friday, he won’t bother going. He is hoping it will end right after Happy Hour. He believes that would be a morally and theologically appropriate moment since, as he says, “When Happy Hour ends, everything ends.”
If The Nation knows the exact time of the predicted catastrophe, please let us know by Friday morning’s edition so that my husband can finish planning his last night on earth. Thank you.
