Lesson for Tibet: When in Rome

It’s a bit strange to read William Page citing Jesus with reference to Tibetans.
Jesus clearly exhorted his followers to abide by the laws of the Romans and Jews in Palestine, and there is no indication in the Christian New Testament that Jesus or his disciples supported self-immolation.
The Roman Empire was quite pagan and, despite that, early Christians in Rome pre-vailed over the centuries by abiding by Roman laws and by first becoming as Roman as possible.
If Tibetans were to follow the lead of early Christians then they might also prevail in China, but they instead follow a political pawn.
