Three football teams – the Singha U-Stars, SCB Life Assurance and Happy Football Club – recently organised a charity football match on the theme “Ruam Jai Hai Nong” to raise funds for HIV-infected children being cared for by the Support the Children Foundation.
The Singha U-Stars team was led by John Bravo who was joined on the pitch by fellow actors Tana “Oil” Suthikamol, Banjerd “Shogun” Santanapanich, Kosawis “Pok” Piyasakulkaew, Sawis “Bee” Petvisetsiri, Sahapap “Tor” Weera-kamin, Sithiporn “Dong” Niyom, Nontapan “Mai” Jaikanta, Chatchawan “Keng” Petchwiset, Jaturong “X” Kolimas, Jojo Mioxshi, and Somjit Jongjohor.
Happy FC snatched victory in the final match.
In between games, fans were invited to bid for a variety of celebrity paraphernalia, such as Saharat “Kong” Sangkapricha’s jacket, Ann Thongprasom’s scarf, Kanungnij “Rodme” Chaksamittanon’s necklace, Akapan “Om” Namart’s hat, Somchai “Tao” Kemklad’s football shirt and Pechaya “Min” Wattanamontri’s shawl.
Sarawut “On” Martthong sold his personally designed T-shirt while Sripan “Oon” Cheunchomboon called on everybody to make a donation. The event raised a total Bt200,000, which was presented to Dr Prakong Vithayasai, the godmother of HIV-infected children.
The event came to an end with Tana and Jojo being presented with a birthday cake on the pitch, as players and supporters sang “Happy Birthday”.
