Thammasat shouldn't let lecturers take sides

Thammasat University should act in a serious way concerning the Nitirat group of academics (or Enlightened Jurists, as they proclaim themselves). Why?

First, the group is acting as a mouthpiece of one side of Thailand’s political divide, using their status as Thammasat lecturers. Their call for a change in the Constitution – allowing for an amnesty for people who got involved in political crimes in the past decade – was eccentric.
Second, when confronted with a question – whether they would accept any political posts or not – the group refused to provide any clear answer. Hence, Thammasat risks being used by this group of men and women for their own personal gain.
Seriously, Thammasat must do something about this situation.
