Let the Good Times Roll

Aof, Ben and Boy meet their match as they're joined by veteran divas Aun, Tu and Radklao for back-to-back shows last weekend at Royal Paragon

Singers Pongsak “Aof” Rattanaphong, Chalatit “Ben” Tantiwut and Anuwat “Boy” Saguansakpakdee teamed up with Maneenuch “Aun” Smerasut , Nantida “Tu” Kaewbuasai and Radklao Amaradit last weekend for three and a half hours of fun in the aptly titled “Three Men and The Dream Girls Concert”.
Royal Paragon Hall’s curtains parted to reveal a luxury stage setting with glittering lights and silver threads hanging from the rafters. The dream girls were the first to emerge with a well-rehearsed “One Night Only” followed shortly afterwards by the three men with “Move like Jagger”.
The six greeted the audience warmly before splitting into pairs to thrill with soft words and powerful music. Ben and Tu sang “Pa Nee”, then Tu was joined by Boy for “Ngao”. Boy joined with Radklao for “Wan Mai”, Radklao and Aof sang “Kam Tam Tee Tong Tob”, Aof and Aun crooned “Rak Tee Lud Loy”, followed by Ben and Aun, who wrapped the first segment with “Kon Kang Lang”
“Thank you for giving me the chance to sing with Ben. I think he’s such a sexy man,” said Aun to screams from the audience.
The next part took the crowd back to the ’70s with the dream girls singing The Hot Pepper’s hits “Hua Chai Sa Lai” and “Pid Rak”. As they performed, three gold photo frames appeared on stage turning them into them into moving pictures.
Aof, Ben and Boy covered the Pink Panther’s hit “Rak Chan Nan Pheu Tor” and the photo frames changed to white.
Then it was time for the solo sets and the audience roared appreciatively as Tu returned to stage in a sports outfit with a fluorescent white hemline performing an upbeat version of “Play That Funky Music” then bringing the temperature down with her 1989 romantic ballad “Kian Wai Kang Tieng”.
Boy was next up singing his 2005 hit “Reuang Bon Tiang”. The two then enjoyed a mini battle, singing different songs to same music and both packing powerful vocals. The audience was happy to sing along with them with the teens favouring Boy and the older members opting for Tu.
Boy’s solo set featured the three uptempo numbers “Nam Pung Pra Jan”, “Leum Pai Gaun” and “Lady”, much to the delight of the younger fans.
The lights dimmed for a video presentation showing a scene from the popular Channel 3 drama “Rang Ngao”. Aof put on high-heel shoes and sang the show’s soundtrack “Wan Nan”, “Hai Ruk Dern Tam Maa Jur Gan”, from “4 Mountain Love Stories” and “Hai Rak Man To Nai Chai” from “Thoranee Ni Nee Krai Krong”.
Ben showed his vocal prowess with “Rolling in the Deep” before being joined by Aof and Boy for some sexy gyrations to Michael Jackson’s “Bad” and “Billie Jean”. Radklao surprised with a few rather acrobatic moves during the “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend”.
Aun returned to the stage with “Phantom of the Opera” and the audience screamed as Ben appeared on stage wearing a Phantom mask. Aun completed her set by bringing her 200 students on stage for “We Will Rock You” and “Born This Way”.
The concert came to an end with the three men and dream girls joining together on stage for “Kan Lae Kan”
