“In my mind I always feel twenty-something,” said the sexagenarian. And just in case the golden thread snaps, Plan B is the considerably less expensive technique of “face-slapping”.
Specialists in the US will slap you silly for 15 minutes for a mere Bt10,500. Susie reckoned she could save money if she learned how to do it herself, so she took a Bt20-million course right here in Thailand. It costs Bt10 million to learn how to slap somebody’s face and another Bt10 million to get the shoulder-slapping right. Evidently you need to firm up both.
Brother did it
Did we sound cynical a few days ago writing about the burglary-that-never-was at the home of actress Khemmanit “Pancake” Jamikorn? Well, everybody was cynical!
But this mysterious affair has all been cleared up now, Pancake and her family assure us following another visit with the police last night. It was indeed just a misunderstanding sorted out once the missing Rolex watch and diamond earrings were found.
And as for those footprints on the toilet seat, the cops’ crack forensic squad tracked them to Pancake’s kid brother Pattaranan, who’s known as Putter. He lives nearby with their dad in one of three houses Pancake bought. Her grandmother has another and the actress lives in the third with Mum.
It seems that Putter was puttering around the neighbourhood when he heard suspicious noises coming from Sister’s house. Knowing she wasn’t home, but not having a door key, he climbed in through the bathroom window, just like in the Beatles song. He found nothing wrong, so he told no one about his rear entry – until suddenly the robbery yarn lit up the news media.
We hope we don’t still sound cynical.
