"Daddy's Logic" would conjure up a few bestselling business titles that invariably espouse a father's wisdom of balancing out family and business life.

Rose does to an extent rely on his late father’s lifetime of experience, but the bulk of this book builds on a collection of interviews with key business gurus and top executives from various industries.

They share their formula for success through 20 tips listed by Rose – tips that are at the heart of his father’s teachings since his childhood. Rose’s father was a civil servant with India’s Central Railways who enjoyed a successful family and professional life. We are told he was retired at age 58, but continued to work at a bakery in Mumbai to support his children’s education.

Heading corporate affairs of Walmart Asia in Hong Kong, Rose believes in transparency and openness in workplace. He thinks his dad’s family values resonate with especially the business environment that he’s part of.

Among his dads’ 20 pearls of wisdom are "Find Your Purpose", "Discover Your Passion", "Dream Big", "Never Stop Learning", "Do the Right Thing" and "Choose the Right Partner". These tips seem simplistic and familiar, but Rose proves their merit with comments from high-flying head honchos of big companies, including Sir Richard Branson of Virgin, Disney chairman John Pepper, and Jack Canfield, author of "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series (rejected by 123 publishers). There is also China’s "paper queen", the world’s richest woman, Zhang Yin, whose Nine Dragons Paper makes packing cardboard.

Thais will zero in on Hasan Basar, who runs Thailand’s largest and most profitable PR consultancy, Bangkok Public Relations, handling Airbus, General Electric and Motorola. Basar values trust among colleagues foremost.
