“She was the one who got me onto the catwalk,” she says of her former schoolmate.
“My nickname in school was Yong [very tall]. The Princess asked makeup artist Apichat ‘Ped’ Norasetthaporn to groom me” because Si always slouched around. That was the start. In 2005 she was honoured to be one of five models who travelled with the Princess to Paris for the big shows. Si was signed by the Elite agency and then took turns on runway for Vivienne Westwood and Louis Vuitton.
“I wouldn’t be where I am today without the Princess,” says Si.

Just saying no
Psychiatrist Kampanart Tansithbudkun tells Who? magazine in its latest issue more about why he walked away from “Chu Rak Chu Rot”, his long-running sex-advice show on Channel 3, after the station “censored” the finale of the politically charged soap “Nua Mek 2”.
Kampanart had announced his departure on Facebook, saying he didn’t want to be a hypocrite by both hosting the show and criticising the channel.
It made him a hero for “Nua Mek 2” fans, but cynics thought he was grasping at fame. Not at all, says the doctor. He has more than enough patients, and in fact he’s quit other projects that went sour.
Channel 3 had already riled him with its breast-painter on “Thailand’s Got Talent” and by letting newscaster Sorrayuth Suthassanajinda keep working despite being accused of embezzlement. Cancelling the final episodes of “Nua Mek 2” was the last straw. The station was immoral, he says. “If I loathe something, I won’t touch it.”
“People have asked if I want to go into politics. No!” Maybe a senator, to help the country, but never a politician. Corrupt politicians, he says, suffer from what psychologists call an anti-social personality disorder. “In layman’s language we call it sandarn jon [thief instinct].”
