God didn’t create automobile shows for these guys, of course. He created them for the guys with cameras who have no interest in the latest car designs and no intention of buying anything except maybe a fresh camera battery.
God created Woman for these guys too. And she was called a “pretty”. And she was good.
This year’s show has an added attraction – a chance to see (and photograph) Nattha “Stop” Sirirampaiwong for the last time, at the SsangYong display as usual. A motor-show model since 2007, Stop was crowned Miss Presenter the following year and became one of the country’s top-paid pretties.
The secret of her success: variation. “I can be sexy or sometimes I can act naive or playful,” she says. “Some girls have just one character or presenting style and it can become boring as time passes.” No one ever said that about Stop, but she reckons it’s time to stop.
Third-round KO
Bigamy is a bit of a habit in Thailand, but former boxing champion Sura “Khaosai Galaxy” Saenkham managed to beat down the accusation when it arose following his wedding to Sawannapa Kumboonsri, 36, who earned a master’s degree in England.
The former WEA super-flyweight champ was previously married to Yumiko Ota and then, until recently, Surirat Saenkham. The latter wasn’t keen to give him up.
In return for signing the divorce agreement, Surirat demanded Bt2 million to cover the cost of raising their only child. Khaosai has agreed, and says that when everything is settled to the law’s satisfaction, he’ll call a press conference and declare himself above board.
Funny, his third wedding was quite a low-key event, but certainly not his second divorce.
