Celebrities and A-listers bid for luxury items at the Sansiri auction to help young people enjoy a better future

The popular charity auction known as the Sansiri Auctionista made its return recently with the real estate developer’s chief operating officer Wanchak Buranasiri handing out a range of collectible items to the lucky bidders. This year’s event, on the theme “Sansiri Collectible Items for Home & Travel”, raised Bt472,990 for the Children’s Cornerstone Foundation, which aims to provide disadvantaged children in Thailand with better education and development opportunities.

The 100 items up for grabs were showcased at the Sansiri Lounge in Siam Paragon and collectors rushed to their computers to place online bids.
Last month, Wanchak hosted a special auction of 19 collectibles brought together under the concept “Home and Travel” by a specialist team that travelled all over the world in search of special and limited edition items that collectors have been dying to own. These included Yoshitomo Nara’s Doggy Radio, Keith Haring’s dishware, Kaws by Brian Donnelly, a chess set from Fornasetti, and much more.
The Cornerstone Foundation’s project also aims to endow children with skills in agriculture through the “Agriculture for School Lunch” programme, which encourages them to grow their own crops and raise their own fish, chicken and ducks. The project is currently supporting more than 30 schools in the Chiang Mai area, among them Wat Buak Krog Noi Village School, Wat Papao Educational Centre, Wat Ban Mon school, Wat Huay Kaew School, Baan Pasak Ngam School and Ban Utoom School, as well as a number of schools in Phuket.
