Faces from the front lines
Photographs of US soldiers in Afghanistan that appear in the book “Infidel” are on display at the WTF Gallery until June 2. They and two films also on view are by the late Oscar-nominated Tim Hetherington. A photojournalist, Hetherington was killed in a mortar attack while covering the civil war in Libya in 2011. He was 40.
His photos reflect the fear, boredom and confusion and sense of humour displayed by the combatants on the front lines.

Curvy perfection with Levi’s

Two teddys go to war
Jeremy Scott, the designer known for outrageous fashions favoured by such celebrities as Madonna, Rihanna and Katy Perry, has collaborated with Adidas Originals, adding battle-ready teddy bears to a pair of camouflaged sneakers.
The shoes feature a textile and faux-fur upper with an all-over camouflage pattern and teddy bear heads on top. For an extra-comfy stride, there’s a soft textile lining, a cushiony EVA mid-sole and a rubber out-sole. A pair costs Bt7,290.
Goodnight moon
Designed in 1978 by Henri d’Origny, Hermes Arceau line of watches is distinguished by its upper horseshoe-shaped attachment and the slanting numerals across the dial.
The new Arceau Petite Lune reflects the original design and adds a new complication – moon phases on a rhodium-coated ornamental fillet. The deep blue disc with silvered moon and stars has a pointer-type date indication that marks off the days of the lunar cycles.
The dial comes in shimmering white or black mother-of-pearl.
And the saddle-stiched alligator strap – attached to the signature Hermes asymmetrical lugs – is available in indigo blue, elephant grey or black.
