The late artist Montien Boonma would have turned 60 this month, and to mark the occasion, the Jim Thompson Art Centre is showing 60 original drawings that have rarely been seen, and in some case never.
They include documents, sketchbooks, photographs and video footage that recently came to light through the collaboration of the Thompson centre, Thai Art Archives and the artist’s estate.
“Montien Boonma: Unbuilt/Rare Works” continues until July 31 at the centre on Kasemsan Soi 2 opposite the National Stadium. It’s open daily from 9 to 5. Call (02) 612 6741 or (080) 117 8911.

Kremer’s kicks for Camper
Camper recruited avant-garde French designer Romain Kremer to create footwear dominated by urban and futuristic influences. He came up with a minimalist update of the Oxford with classic leather uppers and coloured rubber pieces that both clash and subtly contrast.
The men’s collection includes a boat shoe for summer. And there’s boat shoes for women, which an architectural mono-block wedge.
Coupe de time
Gucci’s new Coupe watch is distinguished by its rounded-square case that lends vintage allure. This is a precious interpretation of the man’s watch, embellished with 0.42 carats of diamonds.
The grey mother-of-pearl dial is decorated with Gucci’s GG logo and encircled by 60 diamonds. Elegantly understated to show off the gems, the dial displays slim indexes with the logo at 12 o’clock and a “Swiss-made” stamp at 6 o’clock. The strap is of soft, grey crocodile skin with GG on the inner lining. It’s available at Gucci watch retail outlets. Call (02) 677 4500.
