They wowed moviegoers with “Yin Dee Thi Mai Roo Jak”, the soundtrack of GTH’s romantic comedy movie “Guan Muen Ho” (“Hello Stranger”) and have entertained fans at pubs all over the country, and now local alternative rockers 25 Hours are appearing on stage in their first large-scale concert “Colour in Live” next Saturday at the Indoor Stadium Hua Mark.
“We’re ready for a big concert now, as we have gained a lot of experience over the years,” says Sompol “Laem” Rungpanich, who is known for his characteristic high pitches.
The band, which also features guitarists Prateep “Four” Siriissaranan and Piyawat “Poo” Meekrua, bassist Eaksiri “Bang” Kambangpai and drummer Kritpong “Job” Sakulnamanek, has toured the country and also played several music festivals.
“Of course, the concert will be very different from our pub shows. We’ll be benefitting from a full sound system and intelligent lighting and have designed a song list that includes numbers never released as singles or, in some cases, never performed before,” he adds.
The concert title ties in with 25 Hour’s second album, 2011’s “Colour In White”.
“Look through a prism and you can see white consists of a lot of colours. We’re aiming to bring those colours to a live performance and to add colour to the lives of our fans. Each of our songs has its own flavour, style and feeling,” says Laem.
The alternative rock band was formed in 2009 and released its self-titled debut, which spawned the Top 20 hits “Wan Dee Dee”, “Tham Jan”, and “Tham Dai Pieng”. They picked up the Best New Artist award at the Hamburger Awards and Best Album, Popular Album, Popular Song and Popular Artist at Fat Awards 2010.
“We hope to bring something new to the music circle,” says Laem.
