Thaksin is hardly an economic giant

Re: Korn rejects Thaksin's claim on BOT, Politics; May 19, 2013.

Former finance minister Korn Chatikavanij was right in saying that Thaksin Shinawatra has very little understanding of economics. He also criticised Thaksin’s comparison of Thailand’s current economic situation to that of Japan as a result of just a cursory glance – not out of real knowledge.
I think it’s about time Thais who are in the know cut Thaksin down
to size: Thaksin is far from being knowledgeable in everything under the sun.
The fact that Thaksin concentrates his personal investment in gold and diamond mines in Africa says so much about his business philosophy, or lack thereof. Hence, Thailand has a good chance to become Thaksin’s used-up gold mine if we allow him to always get his way.
