Samsung launches its new Galaxy S4 at a star-studded party

Celebrities turned out en masse to The Siam Hotel recently to fete the arrival of Samsung’s latest smart phone, the Galaxy S4.
The new phone, which the South Korean electronics and technology giant, is billing as a “Life Companion”, is a slimmed down version of its older siblings and packed with compelling features that make it a pleasure to use. 
Premiered at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall in the “Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2013’event, the phone is already the talk of the town, says a delighted Wichai Pornpratang, vice president of telecommunication business at Samsung Electronics Thailand. 
“We enjoyed tremendous success with the Samsung Galaxy S, which was launched three years ago, with 20 million units sold worldwide. The Samsung Galaxy S2 sold 28 million and, most recently, the Samsung Galaxy S3 was snapped up by an unprecedented 50 million buyers from all corners of the globe,” he enthuses. 
“The S4 is designed as a ‘life companion’ and we are certain that its outstanding features such as Air Gesture, Animated Photo and Group Play, will be a hit with smart phone users.” 
The launch event featured the Bangkok fashion debut of British designer Matthew Williamson with a runway show that included some big name models. There was also photo exhibition by renowned celebrity photographer Chai Benjarongkul plus a turntable battle between chic Japanese spinner Mademoiselle Yulia, who is also a model for Chanel and Louis Vuitton, and billionaire DJs ML Korkrit Krissadakorn and Nat Sarasat.
