Ariya out with shoulder injury

Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn was forced to withdraw from the year's second major, the US$2.25-million Wegmans LPGA Championship, due to a shoulder injury.

The 17-year-old was advised by a doctor to rest for two to three weeks after she suffered a slight dislocation of her right shoulder when she slipped on a slope during a practice round on Monday in New York. The teenager’s withdrawal leaves her sister Moriya, Pornanong Phatlum and Thidapa Suwannapura as the only three Thais in action this week at the par-72, 6,534-yard Locust Hill Country Club in Pittsford, New York.
