Unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's

The writer is no doubt right in his complaints about dodgy goings-on in the North. I am amused that this gentleman from Chiang Mai refers to people in Bangkok responsible for the problems as the “poser elite”. The demagogue taught the people in the region to speak of people in Bangkok as such. What the writer does not seem to know is that his region is in Pheu Thai hands at the citizens’ behest. They helped put them in government, and recently elected his sister as MP. The writer could have complained that they had been given tablets instead of education. The schools are being closed so kids will have to travel on the ill-made roads if they are near enough. The rural doctors are in decline because of government policy.

There is little evidence that the police are not on the demagogue’s side. Khun Nai should direct his complaint elsewhere.
