Flu vaccines don't work

Thomas Turk (Letters, June 9) is right. Flu shots are a waste of money and can also have dangerous side effects.

I haven’t had the flu in 30 years and I’ve never had a flu shot in my life. Although I might be lucky, I think there is a better explanation. Thirty years ago I was a drunk, a two-pack-a-day smoker and I ate fried chicken for lunch and hamburgers for dinner. In other words, I think the reason I used to get the flu back then was because I was compromising my immune system.
Nowadays the only doctor I go to is “Dr Eric” and the only “vaccines” I take are fruits, vegetables, beans and whole grains. And maybe that’s why I no longer get the flu.
