Veteran artist ML Chiratorn Chirapravati’s bracelets and charms are shaped like squirrels, koalas, pigs and birds. Event organiser Sombasara Theerasaroj's charms come in camouflage and as grenades, hearts, guns and bullets.
Young illustrator Pattreeda Prasarnthong brings out her femininity in the Teatime selection of tiny teapots and cups in vivid hues decorated with crystals, while her younger sister Nualtong’s jewellery takes the form of lifejackets, sailors, boats and marine creatures.
“The brand gave me freedom expression to explore my own concept,” says Nualtong. “Illustrating a book with a drawing rather fixes with a framework because I have to make sure my drawings make the text more appealing or easier to understand. But in designing a collaborative product, I have to think about the production process.”
“The artists all have different personalities,” says the brand’s marketing communication, Panya Jitmanasakd. “Their creations make the accessories more playful and trendy for customers who appreciate the arts and fashion and love to mix and match.”
Wisut Ponnimit’s adorable cartoon character Nong Mamuang, aka Mango Girl, appeals to lovers of Japanese graphics with simple, clean lines and cheerful design. Mamuang appears on T-shirts, tote bags, scarves, socks and even on stickers for the Line application.
Wisut recently teamed with local footwear Mywarisa, which has become a hit among Japanese girls. Mamuang appears on ladies’ flats in both multiple and single prints in eye-candy shades and on Mywarisa’s first collection for men.
New Wave singer-songwriter Apiwat “Stamp” Eurthavornsuk has an easy-going vibe in jeans and denim shirts, so American brand Wrangler invited him to help launch a limited edition of Wrangler X Stamp denims.
“We’ve developed a ‘travelling denim’ line, which afforded a good chance to collaborate with Stamp, because his individuality matches our concept,” says senior marketing manager Maysinee Wisitnorapatt.
“We discussed the design with him and then gave him complete freedom. He selected the buttons, the fabric and the pattern that he thought best reflect his character. Stamp will help us expand our target group to a younger generation.”
The latest line for both men and women includes slim and skinny trousers, indigo and black shirts, and ultra-soft cotton T-shirts in black and white with prints on the front. Along with the usual Wrangler leather label, the jeans and shirts have Stamp’s guitar motif.
“Everything in this edition shows what I am,” says the singer. “Wrangler gave me multiple choices and guided me as to which ones were best for me. I’m proud of having my name on denim lovers’ butts!”
