The talented Sukosol family brings New York to the stage right here in Bangkok

Talented swing diva Kamala Sukosol will once again lead her energetic family’s members in their annual charity concert “New York, New York” being staged in August at her own hotel, The Sukosol Bangkok.
Hosted by Sukosol Productions and Singha Corporation, the charity concert aims to raise funds for the Thai Red Cross Society’s Princess Sirindhorn Chulalongkorn Craniofacial Centre to support free operations and care for underprivileged Thai children with facial deformities.
Running from August 1 to 3 in the Kamolthip Ballroom, the concert will be packed with wonderful entertainment from Kamala, who’s also the president of Sukosol Hotels, and her talented family - daughters, Marisa Sukosol Nunbhakdi and Daranee Sukosol Clapp, with granddaughter, Natalia; and sons, Sukie and Noi (Krissada) of Pru.
Providing the backing will be the 20-member big band conducted by veteran Piti Kayoonpan. Regular guest, advertiser-cum-singer Dolchai Boonyaratavej will also be back on stage. There’ll be shows by artists from the Aree School of Dance Arts with guest choreographer Eiko Asakawa and Tanee Poonsuwan will conduct the 10-member chorus group.
This year’s concert will pay homage to some of New York’s most memorable songs and performers. The concert’s unique songbook will include classic Broadway hits from “Les Miserables”, “The Phantom of the Opera”, “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “West Side Story”, “Wicked” and “Chicago”. Kamala will perform her brand new version of “New York, New York”, on which she’ll be accompanied by the high kicking Rockettes, and Psy’s “Gangnam Style”.
“As New York is also the fashion capital of America, we’re going to have a spectacular designer show by fashion house Hook’s by Prapakas. Last but not least, watch out for Noi’s new dance moves,” says the veteran diva.
