James gets a love ‘Letter’
Fans of film director Nonzee “Oui” Nimitbutr, who made “Jan Dara” and “Mae Nak”, are thrilled at the announcement that he is ready to do a sequel to another popular entry in his oeuvre, 2004’s “The Letter” (“Jod Mai Rak”). They can’t wait to see how he updates the beloved movie as “The Letter to Remember” (“Jod Mai Kwaam Song Jam”).
And a new generation of cinema fans is also thrilled at the news that Jirayu “James” Tangsrisuk, a major draw on the soap-opera scene, will make his big-screen debut as Oui’s leading male.
The actor’s fan club is wetting itself with excitement to have their guy teamed up with such a renowned director. Now then, who’s going to be James’ love-interest in the film?
As if to keep things hopping, Oui announced a casting change via Instagram. Chalida “Mint” Vijitvongthong was to have been the lead actress, but now it’s Jarinporn “Toey”Joonkiat. Oui said he regrets having to toss out Mint, but, “I don’t want to ruin her career by giving her a role that doesn’t suit her character.”
And Piyada “Om” Jutharattakul was to have played James’ mother, but scheduling problems have seen the role go instead to Piyatida “Pok” Woramuksi. That’s important, too. She gets to pat James on the head.
Tak takes time
Actress Bongkot “Tak” Kongmalai is now officially Bongkot “Tak” Bencharongkul, having registered her marriage to business tycoon Boonchai Bencharongkul on June 19, her mother tells ASTV Manager.
Yes, they got wed in March, but Tak – an old-fashioned kind of girl (hee-hee) – didn’t know you have to actually go and sign papers at a government office to make it legal. But, with hubby prodding her along, she got that done just before she gives birth to their son.
Tak nevertheless still has her maiden name on her ID card. She says she wants to have the baby and then slim down again before she gets her picture taken for a new one. Well, that’s understandable.
