It was Nirattisai Kaljaruek who called foul a while back about TV producers having to schedule shoots around their stars’ extracurricular commercial work. The revelation rang bells across the industry. Now his sister, Jitalada “Tukta”, has exploded on Instagram about a certain celebrity, in fact crediting the photo-sharing network for “catching a liar”.
Without naming names, Tukta said this actress kept the production team on hold because she had to attend university. “But then I saw the person posting a lot of photos of herself at the seaside, getting a good three-day rest. Be careful, your wish [to have more free time] might come true!”
Of course everyone started speculating about who the culprit was, but Usamanee “Kwan” Vaithayanon almost immediately revealed that it was she – and that it was all a misunderstanding. Kwan said the producers told her there would be no shoot, so she took off for a break. “Otherwise I wouldn’t post a lot of photos from the sea!”
That declaration on Instagram was followed by an interview on Channel 7, where Kwan suggested that Tukta “call and check with me instead of posting something like that”. Kwan said she didn’t want to be portrayed as irresponsible and feared her image had been tarnished. “Tukta is at the management level, so she might not see the whole picture. But she now says she’s sorry if she misunderstood me.”
As for the marketing moonlighting jobs, Kwan said, it’s a fact of life in the business. “Anytime a shoot is cancelled, you can go earn some money elsewhere. I don’t know about other stars, but, as for me, I haven’t appeared at any ad events in a long time.”
Well, Kwan seems innocent, so we’re just going to have to track down the real slackers. There might still be a story in this somewhere.
