Why push an old, unpopular format?

It is interesting to contrast TrueVisions' promotion of 3D broadcasting with recent reports in several international news and IT outlets that 3D is a bit of a busted flush.

There is simply not enough content to keep viewers interested. There are only a few hundred 3D Blu-Ray titles and most viewers dislike wearing the necessary special glasses. ESPN 3D and BBC 3D will be gone by the end of this year and others have already downsized from full-time plans to part-time. Perhaps the money TrueVisions invested in 3D could have been better spent on giving its subscribers a better 2D service and reverting to a decent programming magazine.
