Srisaket's TPL fate boosted by three proposals

The panel looking into Srisaket FC's threatened Thai Premier League status will propose three solutions to the Football Association of Thailand.

The Thai FA last week set up the panel headed by Thirachai Wutthitham, after the Supreme Administrative Court rescinded an injunction that had prevented the Northeast club from competing in the top-tier division since the third round of fixtures due to a dispute over the club’s ownership.
Charged with trying to find a solution for Srisaket, who have as many as 20 matches to complete plus 10 more remaining games before the season ends in early November, the panel came up with three proposals after its meeting yesterday.
“We took the court order, TPL rules and the current circumstances into account when considering a way out of the problem. We ended up with three solutions but I cannot reveal at the moment what they are. We assigned Veera Kammee, the Thai FA’s lawyer, to prepare written proposals for the FA’s consideration.
“No team would be negatively affected by any of the three solutions, including Srisaket, who want to retain their league status. All three proposals are comprehensive. Nevertheless, the FA might not choose any of them in its meeting on August 29,” Thirachai said after the two-hour meeting. TPL chairman Vichit Yamboonruang revealed, though, that one of the three proposed solutions for Srisaket was to boost the number of teams in the league next season.
“The TPL will follow whatever the FA decides on the case. In the meeting, we discussed many things in a bid to find solutions, including adding more teams to the league next season,” said Vichit.
