The initial investigation into the accident that saw a THAI aircraft skidding off the runaway while trying to land at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport on Sunday has revealed it was caused by a problem with the rear right landing gear.
A passenger has stated that the captain announced the aircraft would not go to the terminal but instead park away from the terminal because of runway maintenance. Was this a problem with translation, or did the plane land on a runway that was under repair?
