Kitchen and home accessories in organic cotton are up for grabs at this simple but stylish shop

KITCHENS AND LIVING rooms go organic at Gomono, a friendly little shop at Asiatique Night Bazaar that specialises in kitchenware and home accessories fashioned from the very purest of cotton.
The shop, which has its motto “life is busy, go easy with Gomono”, is owned by entrepreneur Chutima Cheevanon, who launched her first collection of eco-friendly goodies at the 2011 Baan Lae Suan Fair and Bangkok International Gift and Houseware Fairs.
“My family has run a factory making children’s clothes for years but that didn’t appeal. I wanted to establish my own brand and expand to home decor. I’m mainly targetting new generation home buyers who want items that are smart but simple to furnish their first homes,” Chutima says. “I started with 20 designs for storage boxes, tissue cases, place mats and bottle holders and was delighted at the feedback from shoppers at the fairs.”
Influenced by Japanese designs, she uses quality organic cotton to ensure all products will be durable, soft and
friendly to both customers and the environment. In addition to items for the kitchen and living room, she also offers bags.
Her shop in Warehouse 4 of Asiatique opened last year and is well stocked with throw pillows, cushions, aprons, pot gloves, place mats, storage boxes, tissue boxes and more.

“I design the motifs that are printed on the cotton. In addition to checks, dots and stripes, I also mix and match the colours,” she explains.
Clean and pleasing to the eye, the goodies come in earthtones as well as green, blue, purple and red, Particularly attractive are the two-tone tote bags, polka dotted storage boxes made from cotton with magnets and holders, tissue holders, padded iPad holders and earphone holders.
Gomono products are also available at Emporium, Siam Paragon and B2S.
