Deputy PM Plodprasop Suraswadi blamed the media for reporting the affected flood area so intensely that it caused the public to panic. It is the blame-game that this minister is fond of.
Has the public been unreasonably panicky? I would not have thought so. Despite his government’s shortcomings in 2011, affected citizens behaved valiantly and blamed their misfortune on having such a government, but blessed themselves for having the selfless military to alleviate their pain. Remember the last flood was caused by water from the North, and the current media reports and photos have been objectively factual, reminding us to ponder whether there will be a repeat. Panicky? No. Sceptical of this government’s ability to cope? Definitely yes.
In future I will close my ears to whatever is said by this minister.
