Elected fair and square

Re: "Ways to put things right", Letters, October 3.

It is good to know that John Arnone is willing to issue an apology to the prime minister if she resolves a list of issues that he believes need her urgent attention. That does at least indicate an element of fair-mindedness on his part.
However, Mr Arnone goes on to state that, unlike all her predecessors over at least the last five decades, she has no credentials or experience to qualify her for the job, other than family connections. During that period, several prime ministers assumed office either as the result of a military coup, or were appointed by the military following a coup. Unlike them, Yingluck possesses the most important qualification for the job of prime minister – a democratic mandate from the electorate.
