PM has role to play in dealing with corruption

Ref: "Surin warns of grave impact on country and region if Thailand fails to tackle corruption", Oct 13.

Former Asean secretary-general Surin Pitsuwan hit the nail on the head when he said Thailand’s worsening corruption problem is a cancer that could lead to the Kingdom’s collapse. I would add that our Thailand looks very much like a healthy lady, with constant sweet smiles and a healthy-looking body and all.
However, on the inside, she is infested with worms and diseases, and is in a state of near death. Hence, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra should get serious on this aggravating problem of corruption, which is dragging our country closer and closer to a precipice. This would help salvage the prime minister’s legacy after she has left: that instead of floating above the problem or adding more to it – she led us to resolve it!
