I believe most Europeans have good travel insurance for when they need medical care in hospitals here in Thailand. The problem of healthcare, I believe, is rather with illegal workers from Myanmar and Cambodia.
How about levying heavy fines on those who trash this beautiful land? In Bangkok and Pattaya alone you could make many billions of baht via fines for illegal parking, food stalls and other obstacles on the roads and sidewalks.
Millions of Thais throw plastic bags and other garbage anywhere as long it is not inside their own car or home. Sometimes they just throw trash out their car windows. I witness this every day. That’s part of the reason we see floods, because of all the plastic bags and garbage stacked up the drainage pipes.
Be more creative and you could generate huge income, at the same time employing people to punish the wrongdoers and improve the environment for tourists instead of taxing them and upsetting them with all the trash everywhere.
