Ten years of music, ETC style
The popular outfit celebrates a decade of showbiz with a concert at Impact Arena
ETC, that much-loved pop band from Chiang Mai, doesn’t have a moment to spare right now, so busy are its members rehearsing for their upcoming concert, “10 Years of ETC: Back to the Future”, at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani.
Speaking at the recent conference held at Siam Discovery, vocalist Apiwat “Nueng” Pongwat, Manlakkeyboard player “Soe” Thumkanon, drummer Sothinan “Bee” Chailangkarn, guitaristPairoj “Olay” Thamarosand bassist Prachya “Mint” Ramyothinwere upbeat about the show, assuring fans they’d be mixing up emotive ballads and upbeat numbers tinged with rock, jazz , soul and 3 cha rhythms.
“We all find it so hard to believe that we’ve been playing for 10 years. I still feel the same excitement as when I heard our first song on the radio,” says an enthusiastic Nueng.
“As the title of the concert implies, we’ll be covering songs from our self-titled debut in 2004 to our fourth album ‘Push’, which was released earlier this year. We’re giving the songs an extra dose of emotion by arranging them with string and brass sections and we’ll also have dancers to add atmosphere to the show. The stage production will be colourful and our guests will have fans screaming for more.”
Songs will include “Chao Chai Nithra”, “KlaiKwa Nee”, “ProhTher”, “Plien”, “Nang Fah”, “Sing MeeCheewitThiRiekWaHuajai”, “Jeb Lae Chin PaiAng”, “KhraiNiyam” and “RuangNgom Ngai”.
