Does Thaksin really want to exchange peace for bloodshed?

After previous experience of protesters invading and destroying government agencies and assets, I quite understand the need to invoke the Internal Security Act to protect them.

I recall Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra saying she does not want to see violence and bloodshed in this protest, but despite claims by its leaders that there will be no violence, the unrest will undoubtedly escalate whatever she does – even if she resigns. After all, the protesters say their real motivation is the eradication of Thaksinocracy in Thailand. But how could we do that? This confrontation will likely exchange peaceful political solutions for bloodshed.
Hence, the best solution is for the prime minister and her brother to stop playing with people’s lives and raise the white flag. This country belongs to us, the Thais, not to the Shinawatras.
